Summary: | Three factors that will influence the effectiveness of the treatment of a child or adolescent include culture, family, and environment. Through the understanding of these individual factors within a child’s life, the efficacy of treatment for the child will be increased. According to Daelmans et al., the expansion of physical, cognitive, psychological, and socioemotional skills before the age of five years old will lead to an increase in competence, autonomy, and independence and place the child on an effective path that will last throughout their lifetime (2015). A child’s culture, family, and environment create a direct and lasting effect that may potentially lead to violence, crime, and substance abuse if proper care is not given to decrease the adverse risk and exposure of poor experiences and trauma. |
