Summary:	The case study outlines the importance of competence and continuing education for all psychologists and any professional. An attorney contacted Dr. Bellum and asked him to assess a client who had suffered a closed head injury and was experiencing language, memory, and perceptual sequella. While Dr. Bellum had completed her clinical neuropsychology education, she did so over 40 years ago. Additionally, she had failed to maintain updated and corresponding information that would be relevant to this case. Instead of declining the referral, Dr. Bellum took on the client’s case, resulting in potential harm to the client.
